Ross Kenrick from Bacchus Brewing in Queensland
What beer are you making for GABS?
We are making a Berliner Weisse. This is a low alcohol sour beer made with added fruit.
What’s it called?
Atomic Lemon, Lime & Bitters.
Where did the inspiration come from?
The inspiration came from our ‘‘Atomic” series of fruit Berliner Weisses. We had created 18 different fruit sours for an event at our bar, during which we discovered that a blend of Atomic Lime & Atomic Blood orange created a really refreshing beer similar to lemon lime and bitters and hence the idea was born. Don’t expect a sweet beer, this is SOUR. We’ve taken the iconic Australian lemon lime and bitters and replaced the sweetness with sourness!.
For those who might over-indulge, do you have a suggestion for a post-GABS hangover remedy?
The “Hair of the Dog” Beer breakfast at Beer Deluxe, it’s a great pick me up, honestly 🙂
Finally, finish this sentence, craft beer is …
the personal expression of a brewer, created for others to enjoy.
The Great Australasian Beer Spectapular is at the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne on May 22-24 and Australian Technology Park, Sydney on May 30.
