“A man who drank a stolen beer 31 years ago has finally confessed to the crime after spending over a month in jail.
“Michael Andrew Utiger, also known as Michael Brown, was arrested by Mildura police in February and spent 40 days in jail for a host of old offences, including enjoying the forbidden beer with a mate at a Shepparton caravan park in 1987.
“The beer turned out to have been knocked-off from the State Transit Authority. Utiger was also wanted over a series of burglaries in Melbourne in 1999 in which thousands of dollars of high-end electrical equipment and jewellery were stolen.”
