Number 1: This tweet from Ale of a Time

Great idea. I usually take a jacket with me when I’m doing a bit of solo drinking. Not because it’s cold but so I could leave it on my seat so no one else pinches it while I’m at the bar or in the gents.

Number 2: Ale of a Time – A naive snob’s perspective: Big business and selling out
This is Luke’s take on Tony Magee selling Lagunitas to Heineken International. Given Magee’s criticism of others for “selling out” he does deserve a bit of scorn for now doing that himself. But Luke also claims that being uphappy with the sale somehow equals “beer snob” to some people.
That’s not being a beer snob to me. A beer snob is someone who thinks their choice of beer someone makes them a better person. Caring about who makes your beer isn’t being a snob – it’s being an informed consumer. Nothing wrong with that. And I’m a guy who thinks ownership doesn’t matter – it’s the beer that counts.

Number 4: The Age – Beer strikes brewing at CUB in Abbotsford
Here’s a lesser-known reason for drinking craft beer. When the big brewers threaten a strike, it won’t bother you in the slightest.

Number 5: Beer Is Your Friend – Crap Beer Week: Day One
In which I offer an example of the adage “steer clear of beer whose name tries to be funny”.

Number 6: And now for something completely different
