Number 1: This tweet from Jeremy Danner of Boulevard Brewing in Kansas City.
This tweet was from a “beer snob” debate between Danner and Ashley V Routson (aka The Beer Wench), which started when the latter made a dismissive remark about Bud Light. Danner’s attitude – and one I agree with – is that you should just let people enjoy whatever the hell they want to drink and stop being so frigging elitist.
You can’t go back and read the full debate on Twitter because Routson appears to have deleted many of the tweets, which is her prerogative. But is also a bit weak in my book.
Number 2: Brew Hui – Hypocrisy Now?
Jase Gurney writes about the health impacts of alcohol. It’s a very important subject, and one I think plenty of beer geeks tend to ignore. The harsh reality -and one a number of beer geeks tend to downplay – is that beer really isn’t that great for you. People can still drink the stuff, but I reckon it’s always good to know what it does, so you can make an informed choice.
Number 3: The Independent – Could Beer Become as Popular as Wine in Top Restaurants?
A fancy French restaurant in Britain figures a beer list is a good idea. Hopefully everyone else follows suit.
Number 4: The Crafty Pint – The Great Keg Robbery
Keg theft is a big deal for small breweries, but some may get their’s back after police uncover a huge stack of stolen kegs.
Number 5: Beer Is Your Friend – An IPA? No Way
In which Monteiths frustrate me. Again.
Number 6: …And it’s not beer, but you’ll like it
