What are you making for GABS?
A most unsavoury, Shaggy inspired, freaky fruit infused, sleaze of a dessert beer; a Belgian-ish Blond frothy brewed with strawberry pulp and seedy-ass passionfruit, dough bag loads of wheat and vanilla beans.

What’s it called?
Pavlova-lova

Where did the inspiration come from?
Well Brendan, our other brewer here, is constantly devising beer concepts out of pop culture references and turns of phrases, bit of an old breeze-block, anything really. Some better than others. The cream rises to the top I guess. That combined with doing everything recklessly last minute provides for some enjoyably hair-brained oddities.

Tell us why you have chosen to brew a festival beer for GABS?
One-off, “concept” beers for us are a source of impish glee! Being a brew-pub type operation our efforts don’t often venture very far out into wider Australia, so GABS allows us to celebrate our creative spirit in a much bigger way, in communion with other brewers/breweries. Woot!

…the absence of beer made in people’s personal garments. Craft is all about inventive and evolving products, and a new age of the consumer’s contribution to the commercial scene is upon us! The Great Australasian Beer Spectapular is on May 20-22 at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton, Victoria, May 27-28 at the Australian Technology Park in Eveleigh, NSW and June 18 at ASB Showgrounds, Greenlane, Auckland.
