Number 1: This tweet from Bryan D Roth
Confirms a long-held suspicion about RateBeer users – that they lose their shit for high-alcohol beers.
Number 2: Literature and Libation – December 1919
Oliver Gray is doing something a little bit different for a beer blog. He’s writing a serialised novel each Wednesday. The link above takes you to chapter one that ran last week.
Number 3: This Budweiser Super Bowl beer ad
Seems quite a few people got pissed off about this ad for the way it mocks beer geeks. You know what? The people who drink Budweiser probably don’t like beer geeks either, so this ad is doing what every other ad does – speaking to its market. If you’re a beer geek and you don’t like it, well, you’re not supposed to. You’re not their market – they don’t need to be nice to you.
Number 4: Medical Daily – Drink A Beer To Ward Off Dementia: Antioxidant Found In Hops Prevents Oxidative Stress, Cognitive Decline
Funny how so many beer drinkers get excited about the news beer might actually be good for you, while overlooking the areas in which it is bad for you.
Number 5: Beer Is Your Friend – The Friday Photo
One example of a short-lived series where I took photos of beer bottles and wrote lame jokes in speech balloons as though the bottles were talking. Can’t imagine why this wasn’t more popular.
Number 6: …and it’s not beer but you’ll like it.
