GABS Brewer: Nat Reeves from Kaiju! Beer in Melbourne, Victoria
What beer are you making for GABS?
A stupendously-hopped and intensely malty Double Black IPA of 11 per cent alcohol.
Does it have a name yet?
Where Strides the Behemoth.
Where did the inspiration come from?
The Behemoth is the largest and most fearsome of the beasts of the land. It also happens to be the name of a particularly kick-arse Mastodon song.
Do you think it’ll be a one-off or are you considering adding it to the range after GABS?
It will probably be more of an occasional brew. Extracting such pure, ravenous evil will take a considerable toll on us both mentally and physically.
What do you think of the concept of GABS?
It’s a great way to experiment with new ideas and see what punters think of them. It is also a great way to expand people’s minds in terms of what they can appreciate in beer. It makes it that little bit easier for us to push the envelope with all of our beers and we’re stoked to be involved.
The Great Australasian Beer Spectapular (aka GABS) is on in Melbourne on May 23-25, 2014.
