This is the neck label of Robinsons Old Tom English Strong Ale. And sure, the “world’s best ale” tag wasn’t something they made up but a title they won at the World Beer Awards.
But still, if you’re going to whack that on your neck label then you have to take the smacks in the chops when the beer doesn’t live up to expectations. You know, truth in advertising and all that.
It’s big and strong and heavy going. And it’s also a bloody long way from the world’s best. Hell I’d reckon it’s not even the best in the UK. Makes me highly suspicious of the level of competition at these World Beer Awards.
In fact, I’m not even sure I want to finish this. No point in pushing your way through a beer you’re not enjoying.
Would a drink it again?: Nope, I’d much rather drink something better than this alleged world’s best ale.
