Fill up your petrol tank and your growler at the same time.
In July last year, 12 Sunoco petrol stations in western New York launched a Craft Beer Exchange Program.
What that means is that, after they’ve filled up their cars with petrol, they can then take their growlers inside and fill them at taps and kegs inside the stores.
Not surprisingly, it’s proven a big success and they’ve expanded the program throughout New York state and is planning on launching to new locations in South Carolina.
The typical Craft Beer Exchange offers as many as 12 rotating craft beers available to-go in 700ml growlers. Customers also have the option to create their own six packs from a selection of single bottles. The selections change seasonally and include craft beers from well-known breweries such as Allagash, Abita, Dogfish Head, Victory and New Belgium.
May I just say to the CEO of Sunoco that, you sir, are a frigging genius.
